Middletons Steakhouse and Grill, which started in Middleton four years ago, has invested a six-figure sum in its fourth restaurant which opens today in Colchester.
The business was set up by Steve and Tracy Hutton when they re-opened the former Crown Inn, expanded into Norwich in 2012 with a 160-cover restaurant, and opened its third outlet in Milton Keynes earlier this year.
This latest city centre restaurant in Colchester has created 15 part-time and full-time jobs while retaining all existing staff from the previous employer, the Italian restaurant Strada.
Following a £400,000 investment, the new restaurant located in a 17th century red brick building, will seat up to 130 people across the main dining floor and a mezzanine area.
The restaurant has been designed with contemporary and stylish decor, where diners can enjoy a wide selection of meat or fish dishes. Customers can watch their food being prepared by the chefs through an open pass.
Managing director Mr Hutton, said: “Middletons Steakhouse & Grill brings something unique to Colchester with the range of steaks, grills, seafood, burgers and great quality of ingredients. Our restaurants are renowned for a relaxed and fun atmosphere where customers can come and have a good time.
“We are really passionate about offering affordable quality food and we’re confident that the new restaurant will add to the area’s thriving food scene.
“We use prime quality beef that we cook to perfection and there are also meats from the grill, chicken, fish, lobster, pasta dishes and vegetarian options available.”
