Hyundai is back in Lynn thanks to a significant investment by the respected Read Motor Group.
The company, which has businesses in Lincolnshire, had created a modern showroom and workshops at the new dealership in Scania Way, Hardwick Industrial Estate.
Hyundai gave its full backing to the new venture by making the dealership one of the first in the UK to carry its new global branding.
And last Thursday, Tony Whitehorn, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor UK Ltd, visited the site and officially declared Read Hyundai open for business.
At the weekend, members of the public were invited to take a look at the new showroom and view the latest range of Hyundai vehicles.
Managing director of Read Motor Group, Mike Read, said although there had not been a Hyundai dealership at Lynn for a number of years, there was strong support for the brand in the area.
“We were delighted when Hyundai approached us to fill this gap,” he said. “Hyundai is one of the fastest growing manufacturers in this country in terms of sales and has an exciting range of cars for 2015, including the new i20 launched last week.” He said he was looking forward to introducing the new car to West Norfolk customers.
The new operation in Lynn will sell new and used cars and prides itself on a first class after-sales service. It also offers full servicing facilities and MoT testing for all makes of car.
The new Lynn dealership is the fourth business for Read Motor Group, joining the Hyundai dealership at Lincoln and Hyundai and Suzuki operations at Grimsby, where it has its headquarters.
The Lynn team has been recruited locally and and the total workforce for Read Motor Group across all its dealerships now stands at 60.
