The new manager of The Deer’s Leap, who has a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, is looking forward to his new role at the Gaywood pub.
Luis Trandafir, joins the business having previously worked for The Sheene Mill in Cambridgeshire, where his hard work was responsible for it gaining two AA rosettes for culinary excellence.
“I am very proud of achieving that in just six months,” said Luis, who puts the success down to improving the service, paying attention to detail and ensuring the comfort of guests. Before going to Cambridgeshire, he was restaurant manager at Searles leisure resort in Hunstanton for three years.
“I have worked in hospitality for over 20 years having started out making cocktails at a bar in London. I have travelled around the world developing new skills along the way,” said Luis, who is originally from Transylvania in Romania and speaks seven different languages.
“I know that it very important to be particular and deliver excellent customer service to guests.”
Luis said he wants to continue to keep The Deer’s Leap in Wootton Road as a family-orientated pub which offers fine dining and he himself will be in and out of the kitchen preparing daily specials in addition to his front-of-house role.
He said: “One of the most important facts about our menu is that all of the food is 100 per cent fresh.
“Everything is home-made, such as our burgers, and nothing we use is frozen or a ready meal.”
He is also looking forward to taking care of numerous private functions which are lined up in the coming weeks. “I will always work within the budget chosen by the customer, whatever the amount,” he said.
