A hair salon which has been established in Lynn for 31 years has been sold to new owners after ill health forced its founder to sell the business.

Lyn Barber, known as Sue, set up Ziggy Hair Design in Railway Road with business partner, Vickie Bloy, and has enjoyed three successful decades of running the business.

However she has been diagnosed with a brain tumour, for which she is undergoing treatment.

Lyn said: “I realised that I would have to sell, although I really didn’t want to, and the business went on the market in January.

“I put a sign up in the window, which two ladies saw and then decided to go ahead with the purchase.

“I want to thank all my customers for their loyalty and support over the years, and I also wish the new owners every success.”

The new owners are Egle Sindickaite and Loreta Jankauskaite. Vickie, who was orignially joint owner until she decided to step down from the day to day running of the business, continues to work there as a stylist.

Also carrying on as part of the team is Luzette Cleaver, who has worked there for 18 years, and Amy Bateson.

The salon is now trading as Glamour Beauty House and is offering a range of treatments. These include gel nail extensions, teeth whitening, bodywaxing, manicures, eyebrow correction, light therapy, and facelifting.

Last year, inspired by Lyn, the team from Ziggy Hair Design raised almost £3,000 for the Astro Brain Tumour Fund by taking part in a walk at Holkham Hall.
