Train operator Great Northern is seeking a new tenant for its retail unit at Downham station.
Following the vacation of the unit last year, South West Norfolk MP Elizabeth Truss has been working with the rail company to seek interest from local independent businesses or individuals considering setting up their own retail venture.
Elizabeth Truss, MP, said: “I am keen to see the Railway Arms and café operational as soon as possible.
“This is a uniquely placed asset in the town, welcoming visitors and commuters to Downham.
“The location could offer an exciting new enterprise for a local person and I have been working with Downham Council and train operator Great Northern to ensure the site is promoted.
“Repairs at the station are currently underway and as a gateway to the Fens and surrounding villages, the investment in upgrading the facilities is welcome news.”
AMEY TPT manage the retail unit and anyone who would like to enquire for further details should contact Damian O’Connor at TPT on damian.o’email@example.com
The previous owners of the Railway Arms, which was named Camra’s cider and perry UK pub of the year in 2013, closed the venue in October last year after a proposed rent increase.
