Do you think one of our many community events deserves special recognition?
If so, it’s still not too late to nominate them for the Community Event of the Year prize at the Mayor’s Business Awards.
Your favourite event of 2015 might have been a family day or weekend, a music event or concert, a trail, walk, fireworks display or one of many, many others.
To be eligible for the award, which is sponsored by the Lynn News, the event must meet the following criteria:
n Held in either King’s Lynn, Downham Market or Hunstanton
n Open to the general public and free to attend
n Organised by a non-commercial or community group or organisation.
Our latest nominated event is the Picnic on the Green, which took place in Hunstanton in August.
That now takes its place alongside the Hanseatic water ski races, the King’s Lynn Lions Family Fun Day, the Hunstanton Carnival, the Downham Water Festival, the Lynn Air Cadets Spitfire trail, Festival Too, the Lynn Classic Car Day.
But if there is another event that you think deserves to be recognised, then tell us about it now.
Nominations should be submitted by 5pm on Friday, January 22, by visiting www.lynnnews.co.uk and clicking on the Business Awards link.
The nominated events will then be featured in the Lynn News on January 29, when we will open a readers’ vote for you to choose the winner.
The winner will be announced at the Mayor’s Business Awards ceremony, which will be held at Lynn’s Corn Exchange on Friday, March 4.
