The operations director of a healthcare group which covers East Anglia and parts of London is celebrating 25 years in her career which began as a cleaner in a residential care home.
Senior managers of Healthcare Homes, which provides residential and homecare services across the south east, joined Janice King at a special gathering to mark her career milestone.
Janice, whose role covers the group’s Manorcourt Homecare business, is based at the Swaffham branch of the homecare division, and oversees the group’s 15 branches in the region.
Her career in the care sector began in 1992 when she joined St Leonards residential care home as a cleaner before becoming a night carer. The home was asked to provide care for a lady who wanted to stay at home and Janice offered to help. Similar inquiries followed, so Janice was asked to set up a homecare service and Manorcourt Homecare was born. Said Janice: “I can’t believe that it is 25 years since I started working in the care industry – I still love my work and in helping others. I’m surrounded by great people, who dedicate themselves to caring for other people and this continues to motivate and spur me on.”
