Lynn’s Sealskinz, the British endurance accessories manufacturer, has announced that the #IAmEndurance campaign featuring their sponsored athlete, Traharn Chidley, has been chosen as a finalist for a Women’s Sport Trust #BeAGameChanger Award.
A panel of experts whittled the short list down to three finalists in the Imagery of the Year category.

In the collaborative video, Traharn explains how her growing love of outdoors pursuits helped her to gain the confidence to break free from physical and mental domestic abuse. Trahan explains, “My ex never took my interest in running and mountain biking seriously, he just laughed at me, but that just made me even more determined. I could feel myself getting stronger, more confident and positive. I loved being outside, I felt safe and I felt free. I didn’t have to hide or prove anything; it was just me and the great outdoors.”
The Women’s Sport Trust works to raise the visibility and increase the impact of women’s sport. They do this by identifying and promoting a diverse range of role models, increasing the quality and visibility of the coverage of women’s sport in the media and by finding ways to shift the funding landscape for women’s sport. Their annual #BeAGameChanger Awards recognises those individuals and organisations doing the most to progress women’s sport.
Sealskinz marketing manager Matt Boyce said: “#IAmEndurance has been one of the most rewarding campaigns that we have worked on. The stories of our three Ambassadors are remarkable. The reaction to Traharn’s story has been incredible and we are delighted that she has been recognised by the Women’s Sport Trust. We encourage everyone who has been touched by her video to show their support when the voting opens today.”
Public voting is open until May 1. The winners will be announced at the #BeAGameChanger Awards event on May 12. To vote for Traharn visit http://www.womenssporttrust.com/imagery-of-the-year-2016/
