The Chequers Inn at Thornham is celebrating news that the hotel has been awarded three AA Silver Stars and the restaurant has received one AA Rosette for culinary excellence after an AA inspection.
The Chequers Inn underwent a complete refurbishement just ten months ago. It features 11 luxurious bedrooms, rustic bar, contemporary dining room and a courtyard offering one of the best al fresco dining experiences in the area.
The AA Inspector, Steve Jones, praised The Chequers team and service, the well executed food and smart bedrooms that offer a high degree of comfort and excellent bathrooms.
General manager at The Chequers, Martin Edwards, has said: “We’re delighted at The Chequers to be recognised with such a prestigious award, Silver Stars have only been awarded since late 2015 and therefore places us in a very special select group of wonderful properties. All the credit must go to my team for their endeavour to exceed guest expectation and focus on what’s important to each visitor we welcome.”
The AA Stars and Rosettes scheme was established in 1908 and is one of the most prestigious awards recognised nationally. It awards establishments based solely on AA hotel and restaurant inspectors’ critical evaluation.
