Discover King's Lynn launches this year's Christmas Window Competition
Lynn businesses are being encouraged to get creative in this year's Christmas Window Competition and be in with a chance of winning prizes worth thousands of pounds.
The Lynn News is backing the competition organised by Discover King's Lynn by providing the top three prizes of advertising worth a total of £10,000.
The overall winner will receive an advertising spend of £5,000 while those who are placed second and third will each win advertising to the value of £2,500.
More fantastic prizes up for grabs include two hours digital media consultation with the Maze Group; two hours branding consultation with This is Fuller; printing to the value of £100 with Prontaprint; a two-hour photo shoot with Matt Usher; and two Christmas hampers of local produce.
Lynn BID manager Vicky Etheridge said: "We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our sponsors for their generosity.
"It is without doubt a funny old year and we're heading towards a different kind of Christmas. Last year everyone did themselves proud, and we were overwhelmed by the effort and the competitive spirit, so this year we'd like to try and do even better."
She is encouraging businesses to start bringing some Christmas magic into the town centre with colourful and imaginative window displays which will be judged in the week beginning Monday, December 14. She said they also hope to be able to incorporate a public vote.
Faux green garlands and decorative fairy lights are available from Discover King's Lynn, if anyone is interested in including them in their designs.
On Tuesday, November 24, BID members can join a free webinar hosted by Iliffe Media, parent company of the Lynn News, aimed at helping businesses get more from their advertising budgets.
It will cover topics such as the importance of continuous marketing; brand equity; social media awareness and how to best use it; Google advertising; and local search engine optimisation.
There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and answers to work through practical issues.
