It’s a busy summer for King’s Lynn Festival Chorus.

As well as opening the King’s Lynn Festival Concert with the European Chamber Orchestra, they will also be giving a concert at the beginning of the Holt Festival.

The Chorus will be at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange on Sunday to perform the well known and joyous Vivaldi’s Gloria as well as a less familiar cantata by Bach – Lobet den herrn. The European Chamber Orchestra will complete the concert by performing a piece from most people’s list of favourites – Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

All this at a concert entitled ‘Viva! Vivaldi’ – glorious music with which to open the festival; for ticket details call the box office on 01553 764864.

On Saturday, July 18, the Chorus joins members of the Britten Music Course at Gresham’s School to perform Will Todd’s Mass in Blue with the composer conducting. Many will remember the Chorus performing this upbeat and thoroughly enjoyable modern Mass at the Corn Exchange in 2014.

To perform this time with the actual composer will be very uplifting for all concerned. The venue for this concert is The Auden Theatre at Gresham’s and tickets are available from the box office there.

King’s Lynn Festival Chorus spent the early May Bank Holiday weekend in Dublin, performing in the city’s two cathedrals. It was the choir’s first tour to Dublin but is unlikely to be its last.
