Traffic lights to be removed from Fakenham bypass this week as works to create new roundabout near completion

Traffic disruption is set to end this week on a town’s bypass as works to create a new roundabout are almost complete.

More than seven months since construction began, the end is near for the construction of a new roundabout on the Fakenham bypass.

Norfolk County Council says that all traffic management will be removed from the site this Friday. However, road closures will still be in place on Wells Road and Water Moor Lane until early next month while final works take place.

Once completed, the roundabout will become part of the Fakenham Urban Extension, a project which is set to bring 950 homes, a new primary school, a hotel and a new community centre to the town.

Eventually, the plan is for Wells Road to become one-way, and for the use of travel onto the roundabout only.
