Thanks from Downham Market's RBL to town's Army Cadet Force
Thanks to the generosity of people who live in Downham and the surrounding villages, and the work of volunteer collectors, the total raised in the 2022 Poppy Appeal now stands at £26,057.
One group of volunteers who turn out each year to collect is Downham’s Army Cadet Force and, at a recent muster, the local branch of the Royal British Legion presented the Cadets with a certificate in recognition of their contribution to the 2022 Appeal.
On a single Saturday last November the Cadets collected £1,364; the largest amount collected by any group in this area in 2022.
In presenting the Certificate, Downham RBL’s president Jenny Groom praised their achievement and thanked them for supporting the Royal British Legion’s work with serving members and veterans of Britain armed forces.
