They've already captured the hearts of the nation, but now three bereaved fathers' cross-country charity trek to West Norfolk is in the running for an award.

The 3 Dads Walking – Shouldham's Tim Owen, Andy Airey from Cumbria and Mike Parker from Greater Manchester – have already raised more than £800,000 for suicide prevention charity Papyrus.

And their 300 mile journey from Cumbria to Shouldham has seen them shortlisted for the Campaigner of the Year category in the Great Outdoors Reader Awards 2021.

The awards are decided by a public vote, which closes on November 22.

Tim, Andy and Mike, whose daughters all took their own lives, completed their journey from Andy's home in Cumbria to Shouldham over 15 days last month.

Along the way, they collected plenty of A-list support in the form of James Bond actor Daniel Craig and fellow Hollywood star Nicole Kidman, who each donated £10,000.

Former Manchester United and Scotland footballer Lou Macari also made a £10,001 donation.

The 3 Dads have also called for suicide prevention to be taught in schools.
