An investigation has been launched after a car was stolen during a break-in at a house in Downham overnight.

Police say raiders entered a property in Priory Road sometime between 10pm last night and 8am today.

A laptop computer, a wallet and car keys were among the items stolen from inside the property. The keys were then used to take a silver Volkswagen Golf.

Police have urged residents to ensure windows and doors are kept locked and secure overnight or when they are away from home in the light of the incident.

Anyone who has information about the raid is asked to contact Det Con Nichola Lane, at Lynn police station, on 101.
