Swaffham and Dersingham care business gives Queen's Platinum Jubilee cupcake treats
A care business based in Swaffham and Dersingham treated its clients to Queen's Platinum Jubilee cupcakes and more.
Home Instead (West, Mid and North Norfolk) is a family run home and live in care business providing person-centered care to clients at wherever they call home.
Run by franchise owners Tom and Laura McEwan, the husband and wife duo work alongside a dedicated team based in Norfolk offices including Swaffham and Dersingham.
To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee office teams were out in force delivering a Jubilee celebration pack which included homemade cupcakes and a royal themed quiz book.
The 260 vanilla cupcakes were baked by director Laura and displayed red, blue and white buttercream icing and a Home Instead topper.
This was following in the footsteps of Jeannette McEwan (mother of equestrian rider Tom), who has baked mince pies for clients every year since opening in 2008.
Feedback from some of their clients included:
• "Lovely cakes and a great quiz, very much appreciated thank you!";
• "It was a beautiful cupcake, the cream was the nicest cream I have ever eaten. They were marvellous, I have never tasted anything so good in my life. It was a lovely surprise and treat.";
• "I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for the wonderful quiz and cake.";
• "What a lovely surprise! Thank you so very much, the cake looks lovely."
Home Instead stated: "Many of our clients enjoyed their cake with a nice cup of tea with loved ones and shared time to complete the quiz.
"It is a very special and momentous occasion, especially for some of our clients who have supported and loved the Queen throughout her reign.
"Where possible the office teams took the opportunity to spend some time with our clients during their visits; companionship forms a large part of the support that we give and is paramount to the wellbeing of our clients, many of whom now live alone.
"We ensure that companionship forms a part of every visit whether hourly or a longer block of time.
"We do hope that our clients enjoyed this treat and have enjoyed the celebrations locally during the bank holiday."
