Care client from West Norfolk wins company’s Christmas card competition
A woman from West Norfolk has had her design chosen as the winner of a care company’s annual national Christmas card competition.
Janet Watkins, who lives near Downham, is a client of Home Instead Senior Care and has been painting for most of her life.
So, when her caregiver told her about the Christmas card competition, she decided to take out her paints and get creative.
Janet’s winning artwork is a scene of deer walking through a snowy forest, and the proceeds from the sales of her cards will go to Home Instead’s charity, the Bring Joy Foundation.
The charity was set up by Home Instead in 2014 to help groups for things such as day trips to the seaside and vintage tea dances.
Laura McEwan, co-owner of Home Instead West Norfolk, which provides home care for older people across the area, said: “Janet is such a lovely lady, and we’re so happy that she won, as we know that there were lots of lovely entries from all over the UK, but the snowy design from Janet really stood out as the winner.
“We are so proud to be able to send out such a lovely Christmas card, designed by one of our clients here in Norfolk and to also know that the card will be seen across the whole of the UK.”
