Residents of Marshland St James care home enjoy day of pampering
Residents at Hickathrift House care home in Marshland St James enjoyed a day of pampered care, courtesy of the RD Nails and Beauty Academy of Peterborough.
Free nail painting and hand massages were given out, honouring the women residents at the home whilst the male residents enjoyed hand massages and nail care.
Memory Lane Community, a dedicated part of the care home, is for residents who suffer from Alzheimer’s or dementia, giving them as much independence as possible.
RD nails was founded by Rachel Watson, who is dedicated to providing clients and students with service and education they deserve.
General manager at Hickathrift House care home, Paula Colman, said: “We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment and this one was our most fun and relaxing!”
The care home offers long term stays to respite care for 53 residents, and is run by Barchester Healthcare.
A resident at the home, Joan, enjoyed her fresh set of nails and said: “It brought back good memories.”
Staff said it was “great to see the reactions of the residents”.
