A series of special shows and workshops are planned as part of a West Norfolk choir’s 20th anniversary celebrations after it received a £10,000 Lottery grant.
The Big Heart and Soul Choir, which was formed in 1997, has around 50 members who meet at the Castle Acre Village Hall on Wednesday evenings, between 7.15 and 9.15pm.
The group has been given its grant through the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme.
Its citation said: “This organisation will use the funding to offer a year long series of shared concerts, open rehearsals and workshops.
“This will provide therapeutic activities to support the mental health and wellbeing of local residents.”
The choir, which is led by co-musical directors Noralf Mork and Jane Wells, normally performs two concerts per year.
Members perform a wide range of music styles including African, Bulgarian, Georgian, Norwegian, English folk, jazz and pop.
