A West Norfolk dental surgery could be extending if new plans come together.

Castle Rising Shop And Dental Surgery has applied to West Norfolk Council to provide mezzanine floor at the site in Castle Farm Barn, Lynn Road.

The application’s design and access statement says: “With the continuing operation of the dentist surgery there is a need to consolidate and improve the consulting facilities for the patient list and the alterations to the dentist surgery will mean that this facility can improve and remain long term within the village.”

A need to improve the waiting and reception areas, which are currently too small, has been the driver behind the application.

The surgery has four consultation rooms but two will be brought up to standard as a result of this.

The statement adds: “To replace the first floor retail area currently used by the main shop in the barn it is proposed to introduce a new mezzanine level in the main area but keeping the space open.

“This will be an open floor with a balustrade and open stair case to the upper level without compromising the overall volume and spatial view of the barn roof itself. The new mezzanine floor area will be 41.0m².”
