CCG tweet about care home vaccinations in Norfolk now removed

The Norfolk and Waveney CCG tweeted yesterday that they had vaccinated all care homes in the area, however an NHS spokesperson has come forward to say that it was 'tweeted in error'.

"The tweet was done in error and is now removed," they said,"We have vaccinated 95.2% of all care homes in the area- 240 out of 252, but all care homes for over 65's have been offered the vaccine.

"Unfortunately we can not vaccinate in homes where it is not safe to do so and those who are suffering from Covid19 will need to wait until they get their jab."

95.2% is an impressive figure to achieve in such a short amount of time, with healthcare practitioners working non-stop to deliver the vaccine as fast as possible.

For the small number of cases where residents or staff that were not able to be vaccinated the team will return to vaccinate them at the earliest possible moment, and the rollout of the Oxford/AstraZenica vaccine has aided the swift operation of this programme.

James Wild, MP, re-tweeted the good news yesterday on the back of the CCG's announcement, applauding the efforts of the NHS.
