King’s Lynn Walks Earth Day celebration after Easter at St John’s Church
An Earth Day celebration will take place on Saturday, April 23 at St John’s Church in The Walks between 10am and 1pm.
Organised by local environmental groups, it will include information stalls by various organisations, fun activities and refreshments.
This is a perfect opportunity for everyone to get involved and find out how we can all celebrate, protect and care for our planet.
With many local environmental groups present, including Fenland and West Norfolk Friends of the Earth, King’s Lynn Climate Concern, West Norfolk XR, WisWin and more, there will be a wealth of information, practical tips, and a chance to talk about current environmental issues.
Whilst campaigns for greater environmental awareness and government action are ongoing, organisers hope that the event will show how we can all make a positive impact on our environment.
Activities and games are planned for visitors of all ages, including a recycling game, face painting, making bee hotels and more.
Volunteers from the Repair Collective will be running a bike repair stand to answer any queries about bike care and help fix any problems before the warmer weather inspires cycling trips. A pre-loved clothing rail will encourage a conversation around sustainable fashion.
• Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970. Today, the organisation works with partners in over 192 countries to drive positive action for our planet.
