A celebrated tenor will be supporting a musical weekend to raise money for charity.
The Robert Foot Leukaemia Fund has organised the first Walpole Weekend of Song in Walpole St Peter’s Church on Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19.
The fund was set up to honour Robert who lost his battle to leukaemia in 2002. He had been diagnosed with a form rarely seen in adults.
Money raised by the fund helps to support cancer treatment at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, along with wards in London and Cambridge.
Boston-based singers Opera For A While will be presenting the songs of George Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Cole Porter during the Fascinating Rhythm concert, which will start at 7.30pm on Saturday.
While on Sunday an Afternoon of English Song will be on offer.
Celebrated tenor Andrew Kennedy, who has sung in concert halls and opera houses across the world, will be performing in the concert, which starts at 3pm.
Tickets are £10 for each concert, or £15 for both.
