Anniversary for Downham Market flower club

Celebrations were held at the Old Gatehouse, Bexwell, for the Downham Market and District's Flower Club's 60th anniversary meeting in October,

Chairwoman, Wendy Bell, welcomed the East of England chairwoman Barbara Collins and the King's Lynn group chairman Mrs Gill Shanks and the members and guests to the meeting.

Brenda Tubbs from Attleborough started off the afternoon with a flower arranging demonstration which had a lot of humour and wonderful flower arrangements.

Before afternoon tea was provided, the vote of thanks was given by Sue Batterham.

The chairman proposed a toast to the club congratulating them on 60 years the East of England chairman and the Lynn chairman also gave their congratulations.

The anniversary cake was cut by Sandra Brett who after 54 years of service is the club's longest-serving member.

Members are now looking forward to the next meeting in St Edmund's Hall, which is the club's new venue, on the first Thursday afternoon in November.
