King's Lynn Bubble Rush big thanks from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices charity

More news, no ads

Last year will be remembered as another extraordinary one for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). It wasn’t without its challenges, for obvious reasons. However, 2021 was also busy, productive and successful and, for that, we are truly grateful.

I would like to take this opportunity to pass on heartfelt thanks to those who supported us, perhaps by giving up precious time to carry out volunteering duties, attending our fundraising events or finding a fun, special way to raise vital funds. Perhaps you donated to or bought items from one of our 44 shops. Or maybe you made a monetary donation. Whatever part you played, rest assured your help makes such a difference to local families and is hugely appreciated.

While the pandemic continues, it was lovely for some normality to return in 2021. There were so many highlights, including our pier-to-pier walk from Great Yarmouth to Cromer and the King’s Lynn Bubble Rush. We saw runners proudly wearing our colours at the Cambridge Half Marathon and who could forget the overwhelming success of Griff Rhys Jones’ amazing Happy Christmas Ipswich 2 event? If you supported us, got involved, took part, gave our representatives a cheer or popped money in a collection box – thank you!

Hopefully we can continue to count on the help and generosity of our fabulous supporters in 2022. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income and this year, once again, need to raise £5.5 million from fundraising and £5.4 million in income from our shops.

However, underpinned by such loyalty and public support, we are looking forward to 2022 with eager anticipation and genuine optimism.

It’s a real team effort and there is plenty to be excited about, from our vast and varied fundraising events to the fun, colour and positivity of everyday life at our three hospices.

With your help, we continue to provide the highest quality of care and support, for children and young people and also their families. If you would like to find out more, please take a look at our new-look website at www.each.org.uk. You will also find links outlining the many different ways to support us and get involved!

Thank you again – and a Happy New Year from everyone at EACH!

Kevin Clements,

EACH director of fundraising
