Council chiefs are backing plans for a new Colour Dash fundraising event in Hunstanton this summer in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).

The charity has linked up with West Norfolk Council to stage the two-mile event in the resort's renovated Heritage Gardens on Sunday, August 5 and entries are now open.

Emma Benstead, Events Fundraiser for EACH, said: “We're very excited to be bringing a splash of colour to Hunstanton this year and thank the borough council for its support.

"There's no competitive aspect, so you can run, jog or walk the course - just be prepared to get covered in coloured powder paint.

"It creates truly impressive, multi-coloured results."

West Norfolk Council deputy leader Elizabeth Nockolds added: "Anyone who has come along to a Colour Dash in King’s Lynn will know what a fun day out they are, so we’re really pleased to be bringing this great event to the Hunstanton Heritage Gardens."

Entries will cost £17.50 for adults, £7.50 for children aged five to 15, £45 for a family of four and £16 per person for a team of at least six people until June 25, from when higher rates will apply.
