Popular fundraiser in Downham Market holds biggest chocolate tea party yet with Alice in Wonderland theme

People in Downham got ‘curiouser and curiouser’ when attending a fundraising tea party.

Terri Reed has been described as a tireless fundraiser and her annual charity tea party this year was Alice in Wonderland-themed.

This year the venue had an upgrade from Terri’s back garden to Eternity on the Trafalgar Industrial Estate in Downham.

The chocolate tea party raised £167 which will be split between two charities, Downham food bank and the Sick Children’s Trust which holds a special place in Terri’s heart after her daughter Millie was born nine weeks early.

There were cakes and karaoke too, and plenty of partygoers in fancy dress.

Terri said: “The children loved it, they sat pretending to drink tea out of cups and saucers.

A handmade Alice in Wonderland themed picture was also auctioned and raised £35.

“The event went really well and I’m looking forward to the next one already,” she added.

Terri’s next fundraiser will be a jumble sale, also held at Eternity on Saturday, September 10 from 10am-2pm.

The next tea party is already in the works, with Terri hoping to hold a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed tea party in May next year.
