Church fete and market celebrates 1,000 years of Walpole St Peter history
One thousand years of history was celebrated in a West Norfolk village this week during a fete and market at their parish church.
The event at the Church of St Peter in Walpole St Peter, which has been dubbed the Cathedral of the Fens, marked 1,000 years of recorded worship.
With a lot of organisation involving at least 30 stalls in the church plus five marquees there were many activities to be enjoyed over two days.
Entertainment was provided by the Flukes Ukelele Band and local Clubbercise group gave onlookers a demonstration.
In a post on the church's Facebook page, events volunteer Gilli Galloway said: "Thanks to everyone who came to our weekend fete and market.
"Our amazing team of volunteers and all the market stall holders made it a great weekend and we were blessed with good weather."
A bat walk is being organised at the church on September 17 at 6pm with possible sightings of bats following a survey carried out by the organisation Bats in Churches.
