Hunstanton Cinderella audience will not go to the ball
The community pantomime, Cinderella, due to be performed at Hunstanton Town Hall after Christmas has had to be postponed.
The panto, presented in association with Hunstanton Town Council, was due to back after a hiatus in 2020.
The reasons for postponing this year are to do with Covid-19 and it is hoped that the show will be able to be shown next year.
Producer Tony Bishopp who would also be playing one of the ugly sisters said: "Cast members who have Covid-19 are having to self-isolate for 10 days. We were half expecting it.
"We just can't go ahead but we are hoping to do it next year. The plan is to do it at Easter."
A statement issues by Hunstanton Town Council states it regrets to announce that Cinderella will not being going to the ball this Christmas.
"With saddened hearts The Hunstanton Pantomime cast and crew have reluctantly decided to cancel this year’s pantomime Cinderella due to covid concerns.
Producer Tony Bishopp, ex-Mayor of Hunstanton) said: " I would like to thank everyone for all their support, the hard work cast and crew have put in rehearsing, learning their lines/songs, stage hands, the local businesses for selling tickets on behalf of the Panto, sponsors including Hunstanton Town Council for allowing us free use of the Town Hall for the 2021 show and of course the mums and dads who have proudly sat through their children’s rehearsals.
"We are so sorry that we have had to make this decision but the safety of all is our main concern."
"Tickets purchased for the Panto can be either refunded or the Hunstanton Pantomime will donate the funds to charity.
