Hunstanton Specsavers celebrates helping customers for the past five years

Helping the community has been the vision for a Hunstanton opticians who recently celebrated five years of being open.

The team at Specsavers on High Street celebrated the occasion by decorating its store and hosting a party with secret goodie bags, with some lucky visitors either winning a discount or a free upgrade to products they purchased.

Since opening in March 2019, the opticians has carried out more than 25,000 eye tests, including some that have led to life-saving and sight-saving treatment.

The store has an experienced team of 10 team staff and has three rooms, with two being eye-testing rooms and one dedicated audiology testing room.

Store director Paul Eagling says: “We are grateful for being welcomed into the community in Hunstanton. It’s been an incredible five years and we can’t wait for the next five.”

In the last five years, the store has helped the community face the COVID-19 pandemic and recently sponsored the area’s swimathon, when funds were raised to train a lifeguard for the beach in Hunstanton.

Among a full range of eye care and audiology services, the store provides high-level services such OCT scans.

This advanced technology allows staff to take a 3D image of the back of customers’ eye to help spot serious eye conditions, including glaucoma, up to four years earlier than traditional methods.

Anyone unable to visit the Specsavers Hunstanton store unaccompanied due to disability or illness can receive care at home via a team of mobile opticians.
