The finishing touches are now being put in place ahead of the reopening of a pub in Clenchwarton.

The Partridge, formerly known as The Victory Inn, on Main Road, will be officially opening on Friday, November 15, at 5pm.

Its landlords Jed Stockdale and his partner Ashleigh Moore, are looking forward to welcoming their first customers after major refurbishment has been carried out.

Said Ashleigh: "We are just putting into place the final touches in the interior, such as a hanging mirrors and photo frames. We have also had a wine preservation system installed and our sign has gone up outside this week."

They are also in the process of finalising their new team of about ten staff who will be working alongside them in the Elgood's Brewery pub.

Drinks and canapes will be available on the opening night and food will be served from Saturday, November 16.

The Partridge will be serving lunches from noon to 2.15pm from Wednesday to Saturday and food will be served in the evenings from 6pm to 9pm, although the pub is open all day for drinks.

On Sundays from noon to 8pm, plated roasts with fresh vegetables and firm favourite cauliflower cheese, will be served. The pub will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The couple both have years of experience in the hospitality industry. Jed was manager at The Duck Inn at Stanhoe for around seven years, where he struck up a good working relationship with Elgood's Brewery, who headhunted the couple to take over the Clenchwarton pub.
