Swaffham club given £250 towards installation of new defibrillator near London Street
A new defibrillator has been installed in a town after a volunteer handed over funds to a club.
On Saturday, volunteer Victor Knight presented the president of the Swaffham and District Lions Club Nicola Claxton with a cheque for £250.
This donation helped fund the installation of a new defibrillator in an old phone box at the Haspalls Road/London Street junction in Swaffham.
Mr Knight volunteers for the Norfolk-based charity Heart 2 Heart with the purpose of raising funds for the purchase and installation of defibrillators throughout the county.
The charity also provides free CPR and defibrillator training sessions.
As of now, there are more than 270 defibrillators in Norfolk, approximately 15 of these are installed in disused phone boxes.
Once installed, the location of any defibrillator can be found online.
