West Norfolk Mayor’s Business Awards 2024: Eric’s Fish and Chips crowned winner of Leisure and Tourism

Being nominated for awards has been a regular occurrence for a popular coastal chippy, but it meant a lot to Eric Snaith to be taking one home at this year’s Mayor’s Business Awards.

Having made it as a finalist in previous years, Eric’s Fish and Chips finally won the Leisure and Tourism award.

They were described as having “quality staff and customer service” in their fish and chip shop based in Thornham – which serves traditional offerings as well as different fried foods.

Owner Eric Snaith, who also runs Eric’s Pizza, said: “I’m delighted to get a win. We’ve been in the final for this a few times and other awards recently so to get a win is really cool.

“We’ve got a whole table here tonight and so many people invested in our business and really care about it. I’m absolutely thrilled to get over the line and win this award.”

Eric’s Fish and Chips has been serving customers for almost a decade and has grown throughout the years as a family business.

They were up against Arbuckles in Downham and the Lord Nelson in Burnham to win the Leisure and Tourism award – which was sponsored by Complete Commercial Finance.

The company’s director, Karl Langham, said: “Our winner though showed us that quality, staff and customer service really are at the very heart of what they do.

“They are constantly evolving their offering and have won many awards and accolades since becoming a welcome addition to our West Norfolk coast.

“They have become a ‘must’ for local residents and visitors which, in turn, has helped support the community and the other businesses based around them.”
