Seagate and Old Hunstanton toilet blocks refurbished for summer tourist season
More than a penny has been spent on Seagate and Old Hunstanton toilet blocks which have been refurbished for this year’s summer season.
This has been done with funding from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Welcome Back fund.
Cllr Brian Long, cabinet member for corporate services, explains: “£15,000 has been spent painting external walls and putting up new signage at the Seagate and Old Hunstanton toilet blocks in Hunstanton.
"Additionally, the ladies toilets at Seagate have had the toilets, sinks, fixtures and fittings replaced.
"This was paid for by the Welcome Back fund, which includes European Regional Development Fund funding, to reduce economic and social disparity.
"It was awarded to local authorities in recognition of the impact of Covid-19 on the local high street and the need to support local businesses by creating a safe and welcoming environment.
“As Hunstanton prepares for a busy summer season, when many people are considering a stay-cation, I’m pleased that these well used toilets will be more welcoming to residents and visitors.”
