Hundreds at Hunstanton Cenotaph for Remembrance Day service at the weekend

Hundreds lined a town’s promenade for a poignant Remembrance Day service during the weekend.

Gathered at Hunstanton’s cenotaph were a number of residents ready to pay their respects to those who had sacrificed their lives during the war.

Mayor Cllr Michael Ruston joined Cllr Paul Beal, in Esplanade Gardens at 10.30am, and later, a short procession, which included veterans bearing flags, marched its way from the Town Hall, past the Golden Lion Hotel, through Cliff Parade towards the monument.

“It was a very moving occasion, as always and followed up on Monday by the observance of two minutes silence at 11am in Hunstanton High Street,” Cllr Ruston said.
