Cocaine possession costs Hilgay man £329 court bill

Having just over one gram of cocaine in his car cost a Hilgay man a court bill of £329.

Daniel Kevan Lopez, 39, was stopped while driving near Downham on July 14.

Lynn Magistrates' Court said police were concerned about his speed.

Lopez was found to have one wrap of cocaine in his pocket and another "secreted" in a sock, Lynn Magistrates' Court was told on Thursday.

The total weight of cocaine was 1.23 gram.

Lopez, of Whittome Mill, pleaded guilty to possession of a class A drug.

In mitigation, solicitor Liz Symonds said the drug was worth about £80 and the police had conducted their interview of him at the roadside.

Lopez was fined £150 with £145 costs and £34 victim surcharge.
