Family-friendly event with music, street food and activities coming to Castle Acre in bid to promote village
A variety of street food, music and activities are promised at a community-focused event coming to Castle Acre next weekend.
Called ‘The Meadow’, organisers say the day is designed to provide a “relaxed and enjoyable experience” for families, couples and individuals of all ages.
One of the people behind The Meadow is Ryan Brown, who said he hopes the event - being held across six acres of wild meadow on Saturday, September 7 - will also help to promote the village.
Ryan, who has organised the event alongside Rob Hooton, said: “We are wanting to create something community-based and family-orientated for the village.
“We also want to encourage local businesses to show off what they can do and be a part of a community.”
He added: “There is nothing else like this going on in the Castle Acre area.”
The Meadow, which is free to enter and will take place between 3pm and 10pm, is also set to feature lots of seating including a gazebo, ambient music, entertainment, games, parking and toilets.
The day will also fundraise for good causes - with Round Table and Rotary clubs set to attend.
The location of The Meadow is off of Back Lane opposite Castle Acre CofE Primary Academy - the post code is PE32 2AR.
Visitors are encouraged to join at any point throughout the day.
“Our whole ambition is to promote Castle Acre,” Ryan added.
There are still spaces for businesses wanting to take part in the event which would “add value to a family-friendly environment”.
Anyone wanting to do so should get in touch via ‘The Meadow 2024’ page on Facebook.
