Discover Downham in Downham Market opens cancer support group

A community hub in Downham has started a cancer support group so people can share their experiences.

Discover Downham opened its doors to anyone who has been affected by cancer in any way for the first time yesterday (Tuesday).

The group is an informal way for people to meet up and share their experiences.

A spokesperson for Discover Downham said: "This is not a professional charity or advisory service, just a number of people from the local community who come together to support each other.

"This is a place to chat, share information, shed tears - and even laughter in a friendly and supportive environment with people who are walking the same journey.

"Cakes and refreshments will be supplied."

The group meets alternate Tuesdays at 2pm and anybody is free to attend.
