Construction work has officially started at Barratt Homes’ new development in Swaffham following a sod cut with operations director Adrian Jarman.

The ceremony marked a major milestone in the upcoming Ceres Rise development and the new homes site is now set to deliver 185 properties to the area.

As well as bringing much needed properties to Swaffham, the Norwich Road development will also underpin 370 jobs and contribute a significant investment to the town and surrounding areas.

Adrian, pictured right, was recently promoted to operations director with Barratt Homes Cambridgeshire after working for its Northampton division.

He said: “Commencing work on a new development is a very exciting time and it was great to put the first spade in the ground to mark us joining the Swaffham community.

“As our Ceres Rise development begins to progress, we will not only be contributing to the local area financially, but also in terms of the jobs we have created for local people and the quality homes we are bringing.”

Ceres Rise, named after the Roman Goddess of the Harvest, will offer buyers the best of both worlds with great commuter links and a bustling market town nearby.

The homes are set to launch later in the year.
