Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts present Coronation Gala concert at Hunstanton Town Hall supporting Royal Collection Trust and East Anglian Air Ambulance
An audience of more than 80 enjoyed a Coronation Gala in Hunstanton Town Hall on Saturday.
In collaboration with the Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts (HDFA), West Norfolk Council and Hunstanton Town Council, the celebration was hosted on Saturday by music stalwart John Harris.
Presenting a company of performers including the West Norfolk Singers, Zimbabwe Fellowship, King’s Morris dancers, Platinum Players, musical comedian Jenny Beake and jazz musician Jef Manhatton, Mr Harris introduced the acts and also played a medley of traditional songs.
The audience enjoyed sketches by one of King Charles’ favourite comedians Spike Milligan called Goons and Gardens, performed by the Platinum Players, songs by Victoria Wood from Jenny Beake, jazz singing by Jef Manhatton and an interview with the mayor of Hunstanton, Maureen Howard.
She talked about her term as mayor coming to an end and that she had been honoured to have been involved in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee as her first official public appointment, and this, the Coronation of Charles III as her last.
Proceeds from the concert will go towards the Royal Collection Trust and the East Anglian Air Ambulance and a final total will be announced soon.
The show was stage managed by Tony Bishopp, with assistant stage manager John Burkett.
Friends of HDFA arranged the raffle and ticket sales were managed at By The Book.
