Coronavirus extends West Norfolk mayor's term

West Norfolk's mayor will remain in office for the time being after the event where his successor would normally be chosen was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Under normal circumstances, Geoff Hipperson would be in the final few days of his year as the borough's civic head.

But the borough council's annual meeting, which was due to take place next Thursday, May 14, and where a new mayor is traditionally elected, has been called off.
