Coronavirus: Three new hospital deaths as infections continue to soar




Three more patients have died with coronavirus at Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital as infections across West Norfolk continue to climb rapidly.

The latest fatalities, recorded in newly released NHS figures, take the total related to Covid at the QEH since the start of the pandemic to 563.

Two of the latest deaths occurred on Sunday, with the other on Saturday.

Meanwhile, infections are also continuing to climb rapidly, according to new data covering the seven days to yesterday.

A total of 965 cases were recorded in West Norfolk during that period, an increase of 46.4 per cent, or more than 300 individual cases, on the previous week.

In Breckland, 895 infections were reported, up by 53.2 per cent on the previous week, while there were 522 new cases in North Norfolk, an increase of over 60 per cent week on week.
