Heacham visit couple fined for lockdown rule breach

A couple have been fined for travelling to the West Norfolk coast from their home in London, police said yesterday.

The pair are among nearly 60 people who were hit in the pocket by Norfolk Police for breaching the rules over the weekend.

And that came after a senior officer condemned the “blatant breaches” committed by dozens who were fined the weekend before, which included eight in West Norfolk.

Norfolk Police yesterday said 59 fixed penalty notices were issued for breaches of the lockdown rules between Friday and Sunday.

A force spokesman said the list included “a couple who travelled from Lewisham in London to Heacham to enjoy the countryside.”

The news came after the force had revealed that eight people were fined for breaching coronavirus lockdown rules in West Norfolk during the previous weekend.
