Three West Norfolk ambulance workers are celebrating after completing a course to boost their life saving skills.

Chris Tomes, Craig Peters and Steve Wilson, who are based in Lynn and Swaffham were among 12 emergency care assistants to complete the six week course.

The emergency care medical technician course is part of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust plan to give 60 ECAs a year the opportunity to learn new skills and improve patient care.

The trio have completed the first stage of the EMT training.

Tutor Stuart Rayner said the course included anatomy and physiology and helped students to boosting their lifesaving skills and knowledge of pre-hospital care.

He said: “It is going to enable the trust to get out more qualified crews on the frontline.”
