Former King’s Lynn man remanded in custody

A man has been remanded in custody after he admitted knocking over an elderly woman close to a Lynn supermarket he had just stolen from.

Alexsandrs Kukuskins, 29, will be sentenced next month after he pleaded guilty to charges of causing grievous bodily harm without intent and theft when he appeared before magistrates in Norwich.

Kukuskins, formerly of London Road, Lynn, had been due to answer the charges, which relate to an incident in April last year, at a court hearing last July, but failed to attend.

He was finally arrested in the west German town of Mappen, close to the border with the Netherlands, in late February, following a joint operation involving British, German and Latvian authorities.

It has now emerged that he pleaded guilty to the charges during a hearing on March 15, after he was extradited back to Britain.

Kukuskins is due to appear at Norwich Crown Court for sentencing on May 5.
