A teenager was left with severe bruising after a serious assault on a cycle path near the Fairstead estate in Lynn.

The girl, who was in her mid-teens, was walking along the Sandringham cycle path from Tennyson Avenue towards the iron bridge when she saw someone walking close by.

The last thing the victim remembers is her phone ringing and taking it out of her bag to look at it, before she woke up near a tree on the other side of the path.

The incident happened between 7.30pm and 8pm on Wednesday, October 8, and the girl was left with chest injuries and severe bruising to her upper body.

Police are appealing for witnesses, and DC Larissa Foreman, of Lynn CID, would like to hear from anyone who has any information. DC Foreman can be contacted on 101.
