Customers left unhappy over home delivery cancellations at Tesco Extra in King’s Lynn
Shoppers have been left upset in the lead-up to Christmas because of a delay in home deliveries from a town supermarket – and are uncertain whether they will continue shopping there.
Tesco Extra on the Hardwick Industrial Estate in Lynn has experienced issues with its home delivery department in recent weeks, which has created an uproar with some customers.
Several people have taken to social media to say they have had cancelled deliveries and have been left in the dark as to why.
One Tesco customer told the Lynn News they have been unable to get in touch with the store, claiming that staff have said they are too busy to answer.
“We have had our delivery cancelled for the second time today at short notice, plus it's been delivered late more often than not, lately,” they said.
“All of which makes for uncertainty as to whether it is now worthwhile shopping with them at all, especially trusting our Christmas order to them.
“I am sure I am not the only Tesco customer in this position.”
A Tesco spokesperson said: “We’re sorry that things haven’t been running as smoothly as they should with the home delivery service from our Lynn Extra store.
“We’ve fixed the operational issues and we look forward to serving customers as normal.”
This should give some reassurance to customers as we go into some of the busiest weeks of the year.
However, others have voiced their concerns with the Tesco deliveries on Facebook.
Another customer said Tesco had cancelled their previous order and failed to deliver their order on another day.
Another said: “The last time I had a delivery, nearly all of my chilled stuff was missing except two items.”
