It's back on stage for DADS

The curtain is going up again for Downham Amateur Dramatics Society and they are looking for people to fill the roles.

Everything came to a halt for them during lockdown along with all drama groups and theatres.

DADS social secretary, Carrie-Ann Lister, said: "We were unsure if we would be able to return this year or next or at all. But as things have started to settle down a little we have decided to get a show in before Christmas.

DADS last show before lockdown featured a surprise visit from BBC Radio Norfolk's Treasure Quest.

"What better choice could we have made than the classic A Christmas Carol re-written by Brendan Sheppard who will also be directing the show."

The show will take place from December 17 to 20 at Downham Town Hall and will include Saturday and Sunday matinee performances. The society will be auditioning on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 28-30, either via Zoom or in person in an informal socially distanced setting.

All of the information is on the website www.dadsdrama.org.uk. Auditions can also be booked on their Facebook page or by emailing listercarrieann@yahoo.com

DADS' last production was The Snow Queen at the beginning of the year and was especially memorable because BBC Radio Norfolk's Treasure Quest team called in.
