Dead whale found on beach near Hunstanton

Officials are urging people not to approach a whale which has been found dead on a West Norfolk beach this week.

Hunstanton Coastguard Rescue Team said it was on its first 'mutual aid patrol' of the day yesterday when a member of the public reported the finding on the beach between Hunstanton and Heacham.

They are now urging people not to approach the whale, or let their dogs near it "especially in the current climate we are dealing with".

The team said it was reported about 1.20pm, after which the "relevant information" was gathered and forwarded to the Coastguard HQ at Humber.
