Dead whale washed up on West Norfolk beach

A dead whale has been washed up on Heacham Beach and may be cleared this morning according to the Coastguard service.

Hunstanton Coastguard Rescue Team posted on social media yesterday morning saying a corden had been created around the whale.

The post said that once the tide had covered the whale, the coastguard team left the scene.

Information regarding the whale has been passed on to the British Divers Marine Life Rescue and the CIPS who are looking to attend to the mammal this morning when it is low water.

The post added: "If you see this mammal on the beach after the tide has gone out, please keep all dogs, children and yourselves away from it."
